Craig Eddie | Principal Ecologist

Craig has over 17 years experience as an ecologist. He has followed his lifelong passion for natural history, previously working for the Queensland Museum and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, before setting up his own business. His knowledge of fauna, flora, vegetation and landscape management is highly regarded within government, industry, the scientific and local community.

Richard Johnson | Senior Ecologist

With 16 years experience in the field of fauna and flora and ecological assessment, Richard has expertise in:

• Surveying, trapping, safe handling and identification of a diversity of terrestrial vertebrates in Queensland.
• Desktop and field assessment of regional ecosystems, fauna and flora in protected areas and privately-held lands throughout Queensland
• Fauna survey planning and implementation, including safe operation in remote areas
• Client liaison and negotiation with a diverse range of people
• Project management
• Personnel management
• Project reporting
• Scientific and technical report writing
• Presentation of technical information to broader audiences

Meryl Eddie | Business Manager

Meryl has a strong natural resource, community engagement and strategic planning background.  Within the past 17 years Meryl has worked in regional Queensland for community groups such as Landcare and Catchment Management, Local and State government agencies and a large integrated energy company.  She is adept at working in rural and remote regions and understands issues faced by people living in these areas

Rosamund Aisthorpe | Botanist

Studying for a Bachelor of Science with a major in Botany seemed a natural progression for Rosamund Aisthorpe. Growing up on a mixed grazing property close to Roma, Rosamund absorbed a love of plants from her parents during their trips to the bush where they collected specimens, took cuttings and spent time propogating a variety of local vegetation. Rosamund graduated in 2009 from James Cook University.

Olivia Warner | Field Assistant and Administration Officer

Growing up in rural NSW Olivia has always had a love for the outdoors.  She has a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga and experience in office management, laboratory work, field logistics and client liaison.

David Chemello | Fauna Spotter and Field Assistant

As a youngster David had an early interest in nature and the outdoors. He followed his passion by completing a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Biology) course. David then spent five years working on threatened species projects as a Technical Officer and Park Ranger in Western Australia before moving to Kakadu National Park in the Northern territory where he worked as a Tour Guide. As Boobook's Fauna Spotter/ Field Assistant, David is able to continue doing what he loves best - be outdoors, find, catch and release native critters.

Deb Maiore | Administration Officer

Growing up on a property west of Mitchell, Deb has always had a love of animals and the great outdoors.  Throughout her career Deb has had a wide range of administration experience and prides herself on her excellent organisational and communication skills.

In her role with Boobook Deb provides administration assistance to the flora and fauna team on a day to day basis.

Ange Bendall | Field and Administration Assistant

Ange has 10 years working experience in administrative positions within various industries including construction and coal seam gas.

Within Boobook Ange provides support for the Ecological team by assisting with flora and fauna surveys, field data and specimen collection and within the Administrative team compiling the native plant database and website maintenance.

Bruce Cosh | Field Assistant

Bruce lives and works on a cattle property west of Injune in Southern Queensland and has a keen interest in the Australian outback, history and native plants.  Bruce has a good working knowledge of local plants, particularly vine thicket species.  He has contributed many specimens to the Queensland Museum and Herbarium (plants, snails, bugs, scorpions) which has resulted in the discovery of several new species.  Bruce has hosted many visiting biologists, botanists and university students who have undertaken various studies looking at native fauna and flora on his property.  As a casual field assistant Bruce provides assistance to Boobook’s Ecological Team with field surveys.
