BBK5 1322 lowresBOOBOOK’s principals have been actively involved in the local Maranoa community for the past 15 years.  This tradition continues through the BOOBOOK business, who proudly support a range of local community groups, events and larger organisations who are making a difference for our native plants and animals.  Our staff regularly give back to the community through their involvement in varied activities, including speaking at field days, coaching local kids sporting teams and assisting with the production of local community plays.

Each year, our staff volunteer as bird and nature walk guides at the Roma Bush Gardens.  We also organise and run the occassional FREE bird watching event, where our ecologists are on hand to share their knowledge and assist with identifications.Surat restocking

We provide financial support for local groups including Roma State College’s junior football teams, the local school fete, Roma Show Society, Surat Fishing & Restocking Group and The Royal Flying Doctor Service.  We contribute to the 'Save the Bilby Fund' and other on-ground projects that provide positive environmental outcomes for plants and animals.

BOOBOOK have also formed the Maranoa Wildlife Carers Group (MWCG), an informal volunteer wildlife care group to rehabilitate injured, sick or orphaned native animals for release and to encourage the local community to be involved in the preservation of native wildlife.  For more information check out our Wildlife Carers Group page.

We continue to provide FREE educational resources such as Kid's Activity Sheets, Colouring in Pages and Brochures outlining 'Interesting Places to Visit' in the Maranoa from an ecologist's perspective.
